Games written in Unity.
- -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- -
From the first days of its existence, Unity was created as a professional toolkit for mid-level developers who cannot afford to buy expensive technologies. At first, the "motor" supported only Mac OS X, the latest revision 4.6 is already compatible with a dozen different platforms, including mobile. The main features of Unity are simplicity, the availability of a fully functional free version and the relative cheapness of the license. All this combined has attracted 3.3 million developers to Unity already. It is easy to imagine how many games have been created on it over the years of its existence. I chose, in my opinion, the most successful of all Unity games.

Hearthstone.

The universe of the Warcraft game was the cradle for many adults, modern children and even esports players. So, in 2014, Blizzard released a card game developed in this setting, collecting simple rules, collecting objects and online battles in it

Hearthstone was very lucky with the "parent" — being a project of a huge company, the game was not deprived of attention after gaining popularity. The developers have carefully worked on graphics and animation, the development of new modes, including a single adventure, and a balanced system of the element of chance, which significantly increases interest and levels the colossal superiority of the opponent.

This game is entirely tailored to the gameplay and boss fights. The difficulty of the levels is very high, the player has an unlimited number of attempts to re-pass the level, since each is unique, requires studying the sequence of actions of the enemy and working out their own tactics for each opponent.
The development of the game started in 2010 and many say that this is a 2d game assembled on unity because of its retro style, but in fact, the creators were simply inspired by cartoons of the 30s, drawing from there and drawing style, animation, and even soundtrack.
The platformer was officially released in September 2017 on all platforms, with the ability to control both a gamepad and a mouse with a keyboard, and already with multiplayer support. To date, the price of the game in the Steam is $ 10, and for another 5 you can buy a special musical accompaniment.

Cuphead.

0ri and the Blind Forest.

This dynamic platformer combines elements of both adventure and action. Playing as an incomprehensible creature Ori and helping him with the spirit Sein, the player explores the expanses of the world solving riddles, destroying enemies and developing.

At first, the character has no skills, no equipment, no spirit with advice, which is why the beginning of the game seems confusing and strange — the player has a minimum reserve of health and the ability to jump. As you progress through the story, destroying enemies, extracting resources and skill points, energy abilities, swimming, flying, and so on become available to the character. Despite the fact that the world of the game seems to be open, character improvements are a must, since parts of the map, formally being open, become passable only with the use of one or another ability.

When Black Isle Studios, Baldur's Gate development team, Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale went out of business, many of its employees left and created a studio called Obsidian Entertainment. Anyone who has played these aforementioned games will surely notice the similarities between them and Pillars Of Eternity. Because of this similarity, Pillars of Eternity is often considered a spiritual continuation of these Black Isle games. The game has beautiful hand-drawn backgrounds, dazzling spell effects, strategic battles and an intriguing plot that effortlessly leads the player forward. This is one of the best games that is made on Unity.
Pillars Of Eternity.

Rust.

Survival simulator style games have always interested both gamers and developers. The player faces difficulties, the need to control and extract resources, build objects necessary for survival, crafting weapons, hunting and other things. So, in 2013, in the alpha version, using the unity engine, the Rust game was released. From early access, the game was released in February 2018 on Windows and Mac OS and by now it can also be installed on Linux, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. During this time, in addition to improvements to the interface and graphics, the mechanics of "aging" and stability of buildings, the ability to buy skins and loot boxes have been added to the game. Interestingly, Rust became the best-selling game of 2014, and today its price on Steam is about $ 15.

This instance will be appreciated by fans of quieter games, as this simulator will give you the opportunity to build the city of your dreams.
Sometimes it is believed that unity 3d games are very dynamic, and no matter how strange it may be, this representative is no exception. The player will not have to shoot, but the management of the city, consisting of many small details, is a very exciting gameplay, and the lack of an end point in this genre provides unlimited development potential.
The game was released on all possible platforms (except mobile devices) in 2015 and since then, up to our time, there have been a number of major changes and updates, the last of which, by the way, was in March 2020. Players are getting access to larger-scale improvements, new areas for development and more fine-tuning of city management parameters.
